In India, Hindus celebrate major cosmic changes, such as the transmigration of the sun from one zodiac sign (Rashi) as Sankranti. Of the twelve sankrantis, Makara Sankranti on January 14th is the most significant; the sun passes through the winter solstice, from the Tropic of Cancer to the Tropic of Capricorn (Makar). We witness cosmic, astronomical harmony and prayerfully honor this scientific Truth. The six months of northern movement of the sun is followed by six months of southern movement.

As the earth starts its northward part of the rotation it brings the promise of a harvest of abundance and happiness in many parts of India. and the northern hemisphere around the world. The sowing season starts. Along the river Ganga in places like Ganga Sagar (where the river Ganga meets the Bay of Bengal) and Prayag/Allahabad millions of people bathe to honor the comingling of one life force (Sun) with another (water).

Makar Sankranti is celebrated in myriad ways. Usually there is an exchange of gifts with relatives. The festival reminds us to thank all who have contributed to our well being and of the world around us. An exuberant celebration of peace and harmony! Prayers of thanks and gratitude are offered to the Sun for a good harvest.

On this day, many pray to the deity of education (Saraswati) for clarity of mind. The festival highlights the importance of withdrawing from unethical and disturbing behavior. Students are encouraged to study science, maths, astrology and astronomy emphasizing the astronomical basis of the festival.

Kites are flown in many parts of the subcontinent. Kite flying while lot of fun to young at heart, conveys a deeper message that God is the Sutradhara -- holding the string of man. Tensions of push and pull (of life) allow the kite to fly higher. If He lets it loose, the kite cannot fly.

Sept. 20, 2010 Research and Investigation rather than Temper and Emotion will lead to success

This week we will be under the influence of the last few days of the Sun being in Virgo. Coupled with that, and interestingly enough, Virgo is ruled by Mercury and Mercury is also in Virgo. Hence, this week will be very good for constructive criticism, service, discrimination, choosing, and honesty. This will be particularly evident in the fields of writing, musical composition, photography, inventions, medical diagnosis, and any type of comparison or analysis work. Try not to work too hard as this aspect could herald physical strain and nervousness if the candle gets burnt on both ends.

On Friday the 24th the Sun finally enters Libra which is ruled by Venus. This will be an excellent time to buy some new clothing, get a new hairstyle, plan some household changes, and beautify your surroundings. Beware that Saturn is retrograde in Libra right now and so there could be a tendency to procrastination, loss of opportunity, reluctance to take on new responsibility, and hating to make decisions.

The Moon is in Aquarius on Monday Sept 20th and then moves into Pisces on Tuesday Sept 21st until Friday Sept 24th when it moves into Aries for next weekend. Since both Retrograde Uranus and Retrograde Jupiter are both in Pisces, I think it is safe to say that this week could have some rather large problems, issues, or events that you thought were gone forever, reappear. I would look for these issues to be mostly technological, scientific, and humanitarian. I expect that to confront these reappearing problems head on, I would take a highly imaginative and creative approach but still don't delude yourself too much.
If the computer or network gets virus or goes on the fritz, get on the telephone and make contact via voice rather than email. Manually do some things rather than depend on technology if necessary.

Venus entered the sign of Scorpio on Sept 9th and Mars joined her on Sept 15th. To take a long view of these aspects my initial reaction is to say, "Don't be temperamental" and the temptation is strong. This is the time to exercise good judgement when it comes to your emotions, temper, and strength of mind. Channel that energy into investigation, gathering facts, and creative pursuits. Discipline will make you successful in this climate and you will be much complicated by your emotions if you are not careful.

That retrograde Uranus and retrograde Jupiter make this an excellent time for research and investigation. Take notes, cut out articles, and save ideas by writing them down quickly before you forget. This is the time to have second thoughts about life's events, catch your breath about long term issues. Uranus is all about unexpected happenings, surprise, and strange complications. The retrograde action actually softens the edges a bit of unsung issues and problems that can occur with Uranus. Trends, Dreams, Visions, and elemental forces are the by product of Uranus in Pisces. We can expect some medical breakthroughs in this aspect as well as longevity and rejuvenation inventions. Scandals, litigation, and misfortunes can dog those with an afflicted Uranian aspect in Pisces. The same goes for Jupiter in Pisces. We may see examples of mystical phenomenon this fall, 2010. There could be healers, religious groups, spiritual leaders, and monks thrown into jail, cloistered, or otherwise detached from the world in this aspect. They could also be lauded and recognized to be heroes depending on the aspects of the subjects own chart. Honors and awards could come as easily as dishonor and prison. Proceed carefully.

Friday, Sept 3, 2010 Adjusting Attitudes - New Directions

With Sun Conjunct a retrograde Mercury in Virgo, we are spinning into the tail end of a three week bonanza of communication upgrades, wobbly decisions, and our need to seek approval. You may think back and remember this began on August 20th and will end on Sept 12th.

All summer long we have been steering a course which has been heading in a new direction. This particular Mercury retrograde period has allowed us to revisit and rethink many different parts of our lives in regards to a total revamping and upgrade due to all the other retrogrades (Jupiter in Aries, Uranus in Pisces, Neptune and Chiron in Aquarius, and Pluto in Capricorn - all currently retrograde) which have been squaring, crossing, and opposing themselves in true pinball wizard style for many months. These retrogrades have helped us reach decisions and attitude which will fuel our new growth and attainment in the years to come.

There will be a new Moon in Virgo on September 8th and we have been meandering towards this event, heralding new direction and energy on your life path. Since Mercury is still retrograde until the 12th, we may not really realize we are driving new wheels until the middle of September.

Specifically the things that are mostly getting stirred up for us are due to several interesting aspects. Venus, Saturn, and Mars are all in Libra which has been opposing Jupiter in Aries. These aspects have been helping us to re-examine any tendancies we might have to live beyond our means, be overly optimistic (therefore not realistic and leading to severe disappointments), impulsivity, haughty attitudes, and irresponsibility.

As we reflect on our past in retrograde style and look to the future, ever hopeful, we are learning not to become so easily upset over these rejections and disappointments. Instead we are tuning into the Mars Opposition Jupiter aspect lately in a big way and by this I mean the ability to channel a higher power and energy into your own issues, boastful pride, and impulsive decisions bringing a totally new awareness into our beings. This is a very spiritual time etherically and energetically, mostly because these aspects are helping to erradicate a need for outside approvals. Instead you will now be seeking your own approval instead of rebeling againest authority or outside control. The need to hunt, find, seek, adventure, and experience may be part of this need for your own approval patterns. It can be a way of seeking ones own approval by demonstating to yourself the ability to make goals. These patterns may soften a bit as a healthy dose of wisdom (Libra) balances the scales for Venus (Beauty), Mars (the hunter), and Saturn (the rule maker).

For those of you with health concerns or who are accident prone, remember Chiron (the wounded healer) and Neptune (shall we say Shiva with a Trident) are together in Capicorn ( the stubborn goat) right now and both are retrograde. There may have been an extended illness or therapy which is responding to drugs and health concious living. Please be careful to continue to lay low, coming to terms with your own limitations until the end of the year (at least). It seems silly to say this, but you are going to have to take your medicine just as the doctor ordered but keep dreaming the dream of completeness. Be aware that the next Mercury retrograde period will be Dec 30, 2010 until Jan. 18, 2011. This may be a time of more episodes of illness unless you heed the call to take care of yourself now and until then. Just as the goat climbs the steep hillsides and clings to rocks, so you should be hanging on. Try to enjoy he view :)

Electrical Uranus is retrograde in watery Piscean (emotional) realms currently... and this is a bit bogged down for smash and grab Uranus. Uranus loves to kick up a storm and takes no prisoners. I think we will see more intense weather patterns, more environmental disasters, religious wars, and maybe some wierd trips. We could even see a resurgence in fascism, rightwing thinking, and arch conservatism. Uranus is pumping up the volume on things...politically, technologically, weatherwise, and economically. We can expect a few more years of this. Please do not overspend or over estimate your abilities in any type of impulsive manner. Now is not the time. Seek freedom and happiness within, no matter what your circumstances during this aspect. If aren't doing it already, Uranus will drive you towards it and it won't be pretty but you'll still get to the destination...

Integrate the ultimate best of the best in beauty, balance, and poise into your "pose" today and vibrate your awareness in the role of teacher and explainer rather than combatant adversary.

If you are sports minded, this is a great time to run the marathon or surf that big wave. Be careful though, riptides abound and you may get sucked under the waves if you are not careful. Swim parallel with the shore and don't try to buck the currents.

Today, 27th of Aug, Aries Moon squaring Pluto ( dark underword, hidden secrets, buried treasures) and opposing Saturn (disciplinarian, taskmaster, and rulemaker). Saturn is in Libra (balance, beauty, art) and so is Mars (energetic agressiv...e energy) and Venus (beauty abundance, and love). Although we are moving away from a cardinal T-square last week and things seem to be improving. If you felt a bit disconnected last week, you were not alone. As time passes, it is a Great time for creativity, art, romance and organization especially on the homefront. Yes, your house can be a little bit Marsian and a little bit Venusian all at once! This can also be a time when the past wells up unexpectedly and grief and depression emerge here and there. Jupiter (expansive teachings) is retrograde in Aries and this along with the Moon in Aries (fire) can bring up past emotional issues. The good news is that this aspect can burn away the emotional scars and issues if we confront and heal ourselves by taking care of our own needs and lovingly owning our pain, watching it dissolve in the fire of love. In a few days you can kiss the Moon when it enters Taurus (earthy)and we can all ground our energy in an appreciation for the beauty in our lives. Goodbye Leo Summer Sun, Hello Contemplative Virgo Sun

It is all in the details now that we have shifted gears and switched up into a new month and Sun Sign, Virgo. This portends a move to an intellectual and organized schedule. Virgo is ruled by Mercury and with Mercury retrograde right now, it may seem that your scheduling has the hiccups. So, keep this in mind when things don't go according to plan and there may be lots of shuffling and waiting during this period of time. Think of it as a process where you get to move the furniture around till you get it , "just right". Don't be too attached to end results and just revel in your journey right now.

The journey is made more interesting by the fact that action oriented Mars and Abundant Goddess Venus are right next door to Virgo in Libra right now! The were in conjunction last week. It could make for a very busy month as you organize and clean your home and business. This is the perfect time to redesign your living and working spaces bringing in energy, beauty, and simplicity.

The last few weeks have been a foley of Saturn Squares, Large Retrograde Planets, Grand Cross, and that Venus and Mars conjunction. Hopefully, the last vestiges of Leo Summer Sun carried you through unscathed as you treaded water lightly in the currents of the river called life. If you are feeling a bit overheated from all the Saturn restrictions thrust upon us as Saturn pin balled and squared itself with every possible planet all summer, then you are not alone. Hopefully you hunkered down and made lemonade with the lemons to keep your cool. It was a time of 1 step forward and 2 steps back on the technology front as things were breaking and being upgraded, right and left, as a retrograde Uranus was partying up a storm in the heavens. Tt visited and fought with all the other planets all summer. Couple this with restrictive Saturn which was as a popular expression describes, a real "Ball & Chain".

Today, Monday, August 23rd, is a lovely Aquarian Moon which is aspecting nicely with Venus and Mars. As Dreamy Neptune and Healer Chiron as also in Aquarius. Those of you with health concerns may be either given some very good drugs or you have reached a point where the healing is well on its way and you are feeling better.

We will be thinking of the future, organizing our Fall Schedule, planning our new projects, cleaning up and getting rid of what we haven't got, and generally working our way todays a Virgo New Moon on September 8th. Paying attention to things that make you go mmmm....

There is only one great conciousness in this universe and its a big leap in your day to day life to understand that this conciousness is not in the melodramas of your mind. It, instead, is so is a region of conciousness behind your own thoughts. To get there, you might try meditation. It takes effort to pay attention to this conciousness because once you start tuning into it, you become aware of its enlivened energy.

Meditation burns the thoughts by turning awareness away from those thoughts (this is the sacrifice part) to the greater enlivened perceptions. Sometimes when I want a quick fix to tune into the truth, I let my mind think about my heart and my heart expands and rotates. The petals unfold and I let the energy of this feeling pervade my body and my conciousness. Instead of getting caught up in the mind, I turn the mind over to the blooming heart. If I am paniced or overwhelmed and really in need of help, I can see the heart as a great fire (fire of yoga) and I set my thoughts ablaze. This is my essential surrender or sacrifice. Push away fear, it is not your friend, when you are trying to attain meditation. Cause thats what you are doing, attaining a meditative state or known to some as samadhi. That is samahdi...pushing away fear and letting your heart maintain and equal balance in your conciousness. All I know that is it is important to have courage and compassion with yourself.

Don't try to hard, let it come to you like in a game. Just think about it, play with it. Enjoy it. The shakti is now and forever. Grace and Effort are yours. Surrender and Faith reside in your own self. The rememberance is in the picture of perfection. Pick a picture of perfection. Your teacher, a sunset, a vista, or a loved one. Fix your mind on perfection, maybe use a mantra, this reminds yourself of where the shakti or energy comes from. Two wings of the bird as grace and effort. The grace comes from remembering the intention of your teacher. The sankalpa. Sacrifice the thinking thinking thinking thoughts to the power of God's grace and go to your heart and hang out there.

Sometimes it helps me to think of the heart as not something inside myself but rather, I am inside it. The entire vista in front of me, is my heart and taking a few deep breaths, I can connect to a deeper place or connection to the place behind all the thinking.

There is a popular phrase or slang some people say to describe this feeling. People will say, "Things that make you go mmmmmmm" or in a sense pause and reflect. There are plenty of these moments everyday, yes, like potentially every moment!

This isn't something you can learn from a book, it just sort of starts happening to you. You just have to pay attention when it does. Lot's of people have this mmmm experience all the time and just don't take it to another level. Hey, take it to another level...why not?

Miracle Mindedness - Heart Space - The Great Wisdom

People say there are no such thing as miracles....If you mention something about a miracle.....They say "I don't believe in Miracles" and it always seems to be said in an angry tone. There doesn't seem to be too much to say to a person who is so negative about miracles because what type of miracle mindedness argues with and about miracles in the face of a stone wall? Because of this, I have delved into the contemplation of miracles. For those of you who have a "hard time" with the concept of miracles, here are a few thoughts..... No one says you have to "believe" in them or anything else....

Just think...every moment, there are so many miracles that we all take for granted. If you were born and you are reading this now, that is such a miracle. God is constantly performing miracles such as sunrises and sunsets. This entire Universe, is in fact, a miracle. Each part and parcel, cell and molecule, atom or quark is a miracle. Remembering this, is in itself, a miracle or rather "The Space of a Miracle". The Place (space) where the awareness of the vibration of miracleness resides. This vibration of miracleness is everpresent. ...I'll say it again or in another way.... "The Vibration of Miracle Mindedness is Everpresent". Know this.... You can become aware of this vibration....tune your radio into this vibration...At Any Time.... AND when you do remember this "state of awareness" you are being "Miracle Minded". That is when miracles can occur. You ask, "How will I know I am in this space?" Go for the "feeling" of it...not the intellectual understanding of it. If it feels like a really innocent space of non-attachment to a miracle happening then you are there," The Place of MiracleMindedness" It is a state of Prayer, of Being, of Remembering.....(Hint: It isn't a bargain, a rant, a plea, or question so if your ranting and raving about this or that then thats not the space......keep delving)

Now Listen to me: "Miracle mindedness is a Mystic Order". This Mystic Order is a Vibrational Awareness of the truth of The Service and Miracleness of every event past, present, and future in this Universe. It is a rememberance of God's natural Seva. Just think of the service this universe performs or of the service God performs for us Everyday! Our breath goes in and out, the tides go in and out, the earth spins around the sun, the moon spins around the earth, day drifts into night. You just can't stop the universe, it is constantly serving. "It " (God or the Universe whichever you want) is in constant miracle serviceness.

The Universe is the ultimate sevite. Even the Universe and God perform Yoga and Service. So think about it, when you offer all your actions up to the supreme universal serviceness, then you can also experience the supreme resting place. The resting place of miracles. The Miracles of Healing, Miracles of Mysticism, Miracles of Spirit, Miracles of personal growth, Miracles of body, mind, and spirit, Miracles of growth and evolution.... The list of Miracle spaces goes on and on......Each miracle is a miracle. Why hold yourself back from Miracle mindedness? Hold yourself back instead from your sense of doership...Doership creates difficulties and the energy gets sticky. You are not doing the miracle, it is doing you and you are just watching and observing and grooving into it.

Monday August 9, 2010 Leo Sun, Leo New Moon

With all the big planets retrograde in the skies and squared with the smaller planets this August 2010 it can feel like we are set on a course with a strong wind behind us, storms on the horizon, and rail in the water as we shift and reshift our weight in the boat trying to get up the most speed to get back to port with our catch and sell it before our competitors get there first.

Take heart, all of those vibratory influences are taking a back seat to the Leo Sun and new Moon in Leo. The energy of the Sun and Moon is essentially the same except that the Moon's rays are reflective and subtly refined Sun energy. The new moon is a Luminous time of beginnings so in spite of all the changes and confusion, those that are enthralled by this reflective energy are bathing in a summertime ecstatic blend of vitality and optimism. There are good times in spite of the workload and problems we are experiencing because our zest for living is totally renewed with this aspect. The Leo energy thrives on responsibilty and a certain warmth for life. Faith is Leo's middle name and the Sun and Moon energy of Leo this August and this week is beyond worldly concerns . Do you feel more aware of your own worth and a larger than life concept of life itself. The subtle state of the New Moon in Leo brings about an excellent time for cultivating relationships, entertaining, and financial investments. Good time to make social contacts and have the boss over for dinner. Make sure you put out a spectacular display on the buffet table when entertaining and you can't go wrong.

Internally, this is an extremely spiritual time and its a good time to tune into this flow of universal energy that surrounds us by the Leo Moon and Sun. Well kiss August on the Sunny, Sun Lips as we surge on into more summer fun. The Sun is in Leo ("hey look at me, I am the greatest, look at my hair and my tan"), Moon is in Taurus ("at least I am grounded in my vanity"), Mercury and Venus are in Virgo ("I am not going to get completely carried away, you know...but let me send a text and then I'll have time for you, oops my cell phone is ringing...listen, I don't have time right now, can we make an appointment to talk on Friday maybe?") Yes its true, with Merc & Venus in Virgo together, we are running our lives between facebook updates, texts, and myriad cell phone communications, but there is some sense of decorum and feeling that maybe in all this rush we might be forgetting our manners.

Besides the hub bub of the smaller planets we are dealing with changeable social structures as old ways of life die and old established systems are replaced by a transfiguration of social and political systems. Case in point, Jupiter in Aries will be Squaring Pluto in Capricorn on Tuesday August 3rd. We are going to continue to see shakeups on the worldwide level and success from new patterns of social interaction. Squares can be obstructive energy but they can also be seen as stepping stones as ways of life die and an evolutionary metamorphosis occurs as Pluto in Capricorn sends on a journey of constant software updates and new electronic ways of communication. Now, if this isn't enough to cope with, the fact that on Wed. August 4th, Mars (the go-getter of the zodiac) will be opposing Jupiter (expansive energy) and Squaring Pluto (dark and mysterious). The first phrase that popped into my head when considering this little aspect was "It's Complicated". I am expecting that this week will have some tough and complicated push and pull as an August tug of war between Mars and Jupiter occurs during the Mars and Jupiter Squares to Pluto. So, we may want to draw a doom and gloom conclusion here, but I am going to go out on a limb and say that this is a time our changeable world pushes the limits within ourselves and corporate structures. At work, we seem even busier and more hurried then ever, as be hurl ourselves into upgrades and changes. There may be meetings about working harder and faster. Because the emphasis is now on gains through social networking such as blogs, Facebook, LinkedIn, MySpace, Internet Chats, Internet Video, and Online News, many social structures who are slow to embrace these platforms may scramble to increase market share as they force old ways of accomplishing objectives and do not pay attention to the new social communication structures. When the forcing of old ways of doing things fails, then there is a topsy turvy affect as long established structures (political, social, corporate, and spiritual) crumble, only to be replaced by innovative experimenters and regenerators. Jupiter is currently in Aries and this aspect highlights a broadening of activities such as changing professions later in life, success with new ideas, patterns, and social status. Life will be bringing benefits from friends and social contacts. Jupiter in Aries is also a good placement for literature, philosophy, traveling, and outdoor sports. This is a great time to travel!

On Friday, Aug. 6th, Venus enters Libra for 6 weeks. This will seem like a breath of fresh air to artistic and creative types because Venus will be in her own sign. This is a solid time for improving your relationships. So many will be seeing social breakups through new innovation social structures such as texting and facebook, there will also be a reverse affect where friends, families, marriages, and lovers become more firmly established and grounded in a very positive way through the same medium. There is a great deal of warmth and affection during this time and I think we will see aspect lessoning the tensions of other aspects. So while work will be stressed out, relationships will be good. I would think this would be a good time to establish as many social relationships as possible because the benefits from friends and social contacts is where we will see the most success. So if you want to buck the "system", the new evolutionary/revolutionary way to do it is through social networking. If your boss doesn't "get" this memo, I think you can expect your company to go down the tubes sooner rather then later. Meanwhile, no worries, you have made the contacts to start your own endeavor even if it seems late in life. Baby boomers take heart, this might be a good thing. Remember the song, "This is the Dawning of the Age of Aquarius" from the musical "Hair", well yeah, the social networking thing is now IT, yes IT.
The Baby Boomers tribal regeneration, soul group happening energy, that tunes into this vibration, will be the happiest and most successful. So if you are still humming "We Shall Overcome", the truth is, social networking has done all the overcoming for us.

Monday July 26th - Dazed and Confused, Make Love not War!

We're bumping down along the summer road of Saturn/Uranus Oppositions and this week will be another challenging row to hoe. We start off with an altruistic Aquarian Moon on Monday July 26th but we have trouble focusing because of a short little Mercury/Neptune opposition. Because Merc is in Libra, there is a bit of the dreamy "I can't decide" stance to your outlook. Maybe the lines are blurred between dream time and awake time and thoughts, fantasies, and intuitions bombarded Sunday Nights Sleep. The afterglow of these pychical experiences starts the week off with a slight tinge of trepidation coupled with a relaxed outlook. Be aware not to appear too foolish at work and try to wrap your brain around the tasks at hand. The foreboding feeling is strictly a resistance to dealing with all the petty stresses and problems of life. So what else is new?

On Tues July 27th, fast moving Mercury enters Virgo and you'll feel yourself becoming more centered. Mercury will be in the company of Saturn, Mars, and Venus. These influential planets all in the same house (Virgo) create a bit of accident prone nature. Especially the Mars in Virgo. Be careful with machinery, stairs, and keep aware of your surroundings. On the scientific front this is an important time of discovery and research, especially anything having to do with hygiene, drugs, medicine, surgery, diet ,and food. It may also be a time when the masses become aware of drugs, diet, medicine, and food on a new level. There may be a call to eliminate chemicals, drugs, and pesticides from our food as more people become aware of the long term problems these things will be having on the human race. Mars in Virgo can manifest as nervous energy and be a difficult placement along with Venus in some of our relationships. This is not a good placement for our love lives as Saturn the ever present taskmaster is all about rules and regulations. Beware of placing too many rules and expectations on your friends, loves, and family. You will be disappointed and you will only have your own expectations to blame. This brings me back to the fact that Saturn is opposing Uranus right now and inside you may feel like breaking all the rules and starting life with fresh new perspective and ideas. The percolation of these feelings bubble below the surface as you inspect your world with new eyes. This placement is fantastic for those of you traveling and taking in new sites. Just beware of drinking the water!

On Wed. July 28th, the Moon enters Pisces. This creates a hyper sensitivity and you will need to be careful about attracting people who may try to drain your energy or have some sort of ax to grind. Usually this is because of their own insecurities. Try "not to play" the game too hard and give yourself some space to regenerate rather than expend your vital life force. Protect yourself and for goodness sake don't brood or get depressed.

On Thurs., July 29th, Mars enters Leo. This could be a time of misadventure for your lovelife. Make Love not War!!! Beware of quitting your job, changing friends quickly, getting into or out of relationships fast, or otherwise shaking things up too much with Mars in Leo. You won't be happy with the results. You may the idea that you want to shake things up and this is the time to plot and plan. Maybe a time to start simplifying your life a bit. Make efforts but don't have a full on revolution (yet). This is a bit of a good time for business interests so if you are thinking about knuckling down and making friends with influence, this is a good time to cultivate those relationships. There could be some surprising financial gains in this placement but be careful not to run over your coworkers and friends by ignoring their needs. It isn't "all about you" so be careful and compassionate, thinking clearly and for the good of all. So if you are thinking about marrying the bosses daughter to get ahead, this might be a good time to do it, but you have to be careful not to hurt any other people when you take actions like this. On the national level, I think we will see new appointments, shakeups, and government positions changing rapidly between now and September.

On Fri., the Moon moves into Aries and war like energy increases. This could also be a good time to make investments and with Mars in Leo, be looking for investments in the healthcare and diet fields. If you are thinking about having an elective surgery (not on eyes ears, or throat), this is an excellent window to do it.

On Sat., July 31 there will be an intense Mars and Saturn conjunction...don't forget Uranus is opposing Saturn. Can we say...it hits the fan? This may be a time your company decides to start and oppressive new round of budget cuts or layoffs. There may be increased demands for the budget to balance and drastic measures may be taking place behind closed doors at this time. I expect this will be a working weekend for some people, especially managers. This won't be the best weekend for connecting with friends. Relax and enjoy the solitude. Plot new ideas, keep a notebook, formulate and make new resolutions.

What is Old Is New - Four Big Planets Retrograde

As the summers roasts away, we approach the Full Moon, July 25th, the day of our spiritual mentors, or what is known as Gurupurnima in India, with a combination of heat exhaustion and inner calm brought on by the volume of tasks and adventures life has taken us since the solstice in June. This is an auspicious time spiritually but may outwardly seem otherwise.

On Monday, July 19th, we find the moon in Scorpio, and remember this can be an easy time to hurt others with your truthfulness. Beware of the urge to distrust even yourself and start the week with cutting off hand remarks and thoughtless deductions. Latent issues can boil to the surface and sneak their way through melting sidewalk cracks like a weed looking for sunlight. Your qualms are activated by the stifling and searing heat of summer, so try to stay calm and definately keep your trap shut. You may even be wondering if the world is mentally ill or is it yourself? Breath deeply and try to stay centered in your still point.

As the moon heads into Sagitarius on Tues, July 20th, please do not bore others with repeat stories and long winded self serving explanations of why your life is so horrible. I know, I know, the heat is getting to you and the travails of Saturn in Virgo has worn you thin. All this working discipline is taking a toll, yes, it is true, but take heart, Saturn floats like a butterfly and stings like a bee as it enters Libra on Wed. July 21st. Ok, the truth is that your relationships are not going to be easy with Saturn in Libra. I'll bet you will have some idea of what your friendships should be like, all beauty, roses, and happiness but in reality, sometimes friendships can be biting as even your friends can not stand you any longer and vicious interchanges, lawsuits, and unmentionable crisis' can occur in this placement. Beware of motives and trust your intuition here. There maybe a churning of past friendships and relations from long ago. The summer heat simmers them up from the past like a boiling soup of confusion. The reason, you may ask, is four planets , big planets I may add, retrograde in the skies above. Just as we were limping through summer with Uranus, Pluto, and Neptune retrograde, the party is joined by heavy hitter Jupiter and the party get a little wilder. Yes, the joint is jumping! Expect gate crashers and even the cops!

What does all this mean? Hopefully you are breathing in and out, saying your mantra, striking a yoga pose when things get dicey because to tell you the truth, the only thing all these aspects are good for, IMHO, is spiritual growth. The outward circumstances of your petty little life mean little to your ultimate universal spiritual teacher. Only your spiritual evolution means anything and this may become abundantly clear as the retrogrades dredge up the slimy past karmas and have a summer picnic in your backyard. The oil may have stopped in the gulf but the slime is still spewing elsewhere. The arrows of confusion as like demons attacking buddha under the buddhi tree. Stay solvent and strong in your contentment and storehouse of inner resolve to be unmoved by all that hurls it way through the back door of your life. No, man, it not coming in the front door, its going to bubble up in unexpected places.
Honor yourself first but please please try not to be too self absorbed. Give everyone else a break for once and keep it light, will you?

For those of you traveling, the time seems perfect for new experiences and adventures and yes it is, because you are traveling backwards into the past with all these retrogrades. SO that trip you always wanted to take and never took? Now is the perfect time. That thing you never did, now is the time. That book you wanted to write, now is the time. That forgiveness you wanted to make, now is the time. That love you wanted to give, now is the time. So make sure you don't revel in your petty small world, but break out in new directions that are really old directions that never got done previously. What is old is New, revisit the past with only a fresh eye for how to transform it into a new and interesting part o your life that adds rather than subtracts to your world and the world of others.

On Sat., July 24th there is a nice little Moon Venus Trine. Should be a sweet time for getting together and travel. Sun. July 25th, Gurupurnima, there is a Jupiter/Pluto Square so expect some surprise dredging up of all those unstruck seeds of karma you thought got missed. Remember your relationship with the teacher isn't about your petty little life. Get over yourself. Quit trying to kiss up. It's not about outward circumstances at all. None of it is! Pay attention to the awakened energy for guidance. It's there all around you waiting for you to notice :)

Mon., June 14, 2010 Venus enters Leo for next Month!

Just as summer is about to get underway we are experiencing the planet Venus entering the sign of Leo. The Moon also enters Leo on Monday so there will be some emotional pinging as we all adjust to this aspect. Venus in Leo combines love and beauty with outgoing gregariousness. The two can make an interesting combination on the financial and business front, as this will be the time we will see business and corporate entertaining on a larger scale than we've seen it in the past few years. Bosses everywhere will be courting their bosses, their clients, and potential clients with just a little more leeway with the American Express card. Leo's planetary ruler is the Sun and the Sun demands the spotlight and although Leo can be cheerful, there is a demand for prestige. Couple this with Venus the planet of Love, Beauty, and the finer things whose rulers are earthy Taurus and Airy Libra and you will see the winds of fortune on to many who use this aspect wisely at this time to further their careers and business arrangements. This is going to be an opulent month ahead, weddings, events, business functions and parties will be strutting all their stuff, so be prepared to have your best clothing ready at a moments notice as the invitations may start coming in fast and furious. Entertaining will be on a large scale this month.
This will also be a great time on the music, theater, movies, and social activities which promote concert going and large public events. There will be an emphasis photography, scientific inventions, medical diagnosis, diets, and catering/restaurant businesses. Romance will be having a field day at all these parties. If you are single this is a great time to put on your most attractive clothig, get a new hairdo, and be as social as possible. Cupid's Arrows are quivering in his bow right now!

On the down side of this, beware of the tyrant, despotic behavior, or unscrupulous people at this time, as they may just appear as fun party people but are wolves in sheep's clothing. We will probably see lots of posturing and pretending especially on the National and Political scene as all this Leo energy says look at me while I tell you how it should be. So keep a level head during all these parties and make contacts but we slightly wary. This isn't a bad time for alliances but you must be vigilant to test things as you go along. If you do not, when Venus enters Virgo in a month , where Saturn and Mars now reside, you will be snapped back into moral reality as romantic rules and regulations kick in. This will be the time you find out the true merit of something or someone you met during the Venus in Leo aspect. Keep a look out!

There are several lovely trines this week and notably the moon enters Virgo on June 17th which will be very helpful to calm down any wild spending you may be thinking of doing. This is a good time to spend money but also you must stay within your budget and give yourself a reality check so you don't go to crazy with your credit card. A good rule of thumb is this, if you can't pay the credit card bill in total at the end of the month, you can't afford the purchase. So look to upgrade your appearance with a new haircut and clothing but stay within your budget.

Hey! Mars has been in Leo lately....and to many people this felt like it made sense....not to me mind you but to many....With the "look at me, I have long curly hair " energy of Mars in Leo, the little ego boost that transmits the illusion that all is right with the world if everyone is looking at me while I toss my hair, IS ABOUT to end. mars will be bursting forth into Virgo where Mars would probably normally be an itsy bsty uncomfortable. Toss in the fact that Saturn is now generating a storehouse of rules and regulations while in Virgo ALREADY, then maybe a little Mars energy in Virgo will contribute to people actually balancing thier checkbooks and paying thier bills for a change. If anything this will create a good deal of "accountability" in this world and god knows we need to be getting accountabilty up and running...cases in point - world banking crisis and bp oil spill....I can't decide whether this might be a good thing or not but if you are suddenly unconcerned with your appearance this week and more concerned with your financial, environmental, and job health, then maybe it's all going to create a little bit of stability in an otherwise summer season of tumultous heavenly configuration. Whatever happens, your bills will be paid, you will be minding your p's and q's...and you will probably see a parade of outspoken people on TV demanding change! The energy of this reminds me of the 1968 Democratic convention in Chicago or the 60's civil rights marches. Social change will be "a coming" and there will be much vocal and social interaction demanding change.

This past week has been a confusing mess with big ole planets "Neptune " and "Uranus" stationing (which means practically stopping in their orbital tracks) as they do a dance of going forward and backward. As Neptune does this, everyone is having dreams and rememberances of old friends, loves, and long ago connections. You may feel an urge to re-connect with a phone call or an email but please know that it's just "old home" week and nothing more. Don't go an divorce your husband/wife/partner because and old flame wants to "hook up".....If you get invited to a reunion or party with scads of old aquantainces and connections (do not be surprised), chalk it up to Neptune. These deeper karmic channels are bubbling to the surface like the icelandic volcano. Enjoy but don't take it too seriously.

Both Jupiter and Uranus (and Stationing) are in Aries and on Monday June 7th the Moon is in Aries too. I think we will see even more issues with the banking systems, eco systems, governments, and big business. The spiral of them trying to expand their reach and control is spinning out of control and baby, its not pretty. It's perhaps a bit scary, don't you think?

All I can say is THANK GOODNESS Venus is in Cancer. Everyone can cuddle up in thier loving home and hunker down for the onslaught. Keep the love flowing on the homefront because its going to be easy get caught up in the delusion of wierd old Pluto in Capricorn pinging here and there off Jupiter, Uranus, and Neptune. If you feel like your over tired, over worked, and confused about the onslaught of all the wild energy that is being thrown around everywhere and coping with those karmic connections that are surprising and coming fast and furious...ok...expect the unexpected ALL SUMMER LONG...this isn't going to mellow out anytime soon. I think I am just going to put on my Mr Magoo glasses and "keep on truckin". Cooking, creative pursuits, artwork, spiritual study, yoga, and gardening will keep you balanced and whole.

Getting out in nature and experiencing the healing energy you give yourself with a simple walk in the woods, beach, or lake is going to be a rope to grab while you continue to find sanity in the simplest of pleasures. I wouldn't let your self get too stressed out by the past climbing out of some dungeon to mess with your mind...just realize...this is a very active time for these types of things and remember...this too shall pass...dive...swim...play...frolic... instead...reach down for courage to find your own inner contentment!

June 1, 2010 Neptune Retrograde in Aquarius

This week finds us adjusting to a Retrograde Neptune in Aquarius which will continue its backward spin for the next 5 months. Just as Uranus blasted into Aries, last week, we have another deeper more subliminal adjustment this week. For those of us born after 1947 with Neptune in Pisces, this journey back into Aquarius is like visiting past lives. Part of the whole Neptunian struggle for this generation has been an attraction to drugs and other forms of escapism. Neptune has a strange undefinable quality of boosting inner spiritual growth and experience on the inner realms while possibly sending others over the edge into an abyss. I think seeing Neptune retrograde for our entire summer will be an interesting exercise in catching up sunconciously with what we haven't caught up with yet in this lifetime. Do you feel like you are acting like your 15 years old? Do you just want to run away from it all...or maybe you just want to party down the summer dream. With Uranus in Aries sending us environmental surprises all summer like the Quebec wildfires, Icelandic volcanos, and polluted southern oceans we could probably use some escapism. The movies will be huge this summer and the box office blockbusters will make record amounts of money. People will be going out to eat more often and looking for small daytrips to memory lanes. There will be a bonding in families this summer and more and more families will be trying to recreate past summer magic together in an effort to escape from the natural castastrophes bombarding everyone in the news. Yes, chicken little the sky is falling...OMG ...its really falling...lets have a barbeque.

Dreams will be dreamier. Those on the spiritual path or who have mediumistic qualities may not be the best ones to interpret thier own dreams but the dreams will be vivid and real. This is an excellent time to meditate and read. Those of you who are finishing up a large project, healing a serious illness, or starting a new project, please be aware that this is going to be a 5-6 month endeavor at the very least. Intuition and psychic awareness will be heightened for everyone this summer and there will be a sense of independance and some communal events will feed this social expression. Whether it is facebook, myspace, or burning man people will continue to conduct themselves socially to better the planet. The sense of environmental outrage will grow on the internet and people will be banding together in a new social structure which will improve our society on this afflicted planet. Beware of bad business arrangements, criminal activity, and bad idea love affairs. Even if you have the wish to express yourself in a new way, check and double check your ideals and motives before making any moves in this Neptune retrograde. This could be a very illusional time and my advice it to stick to what is tried and true in the pit of your stomach and be very careful not to lose the freedoms you already have. You may not be as imprisoned as you think.

With the Sun being in chirpy and airy Gemini we can start the week off with an uneventful Libra Moon which has us wondering if we made the right decisions over the weekend but otherwise seems balanced and even keeled. Monday should be talkative but uneventful as you rush to get organized for the week ahead which is building towards a Full Moon in Sag on Thursday.

On Tues. Morning at 2:18am EDT the gears will switch to an intense Scorpio Moon where you will feel issues that have been back burner surge to the forefront of your conciousness. This could include taxes, bills, lost parking tickets, money owned, other's peoples money, memos, instructions, and important transformational data pertaining to birth, death, marriage, license, passports, identity, and personal information.

We will particularly be feeling a rushing to change as the full moon squares Mars on Wed at 3:02pm EDT. If ever you were going to feel anger or irritation about lost articles, work not done, deadlines missed, or important events forgotten, then this will be the day for it. Try to not be a victim or victimize on this day. I know it is going to be tough to not take out your frustration but just try to breath into it and realize it is intense but this too shall pass.

Blissfully we will move into a Sagitarius Full Moon on Thursday at 1:07pm EDT where we can consider our choices carefully for the coming three day weekend. We will be feeling the crusible of change so it will time to "get outside yourself" because Uranus is bursting into Aries at 1:07pm on Thursday after being in Pisces for 8 years. Aries is all about action and a cardinal fire sign so fasten your seat belts it is going to be a wild roller coaster ride for the next 8 years. I think we can expect loads of sudden firely changes, more volcanic activity, explosions, sudden shifts and changes, earthquakes, and more and more technology ruling our worlds and life. Uranus is ringy ding dinging in the "Big Wake Up Call" and since Jupiter is conjunct Uranus in Aries, we can expect and expansive and godlike energy ruling our worlds. It certainly isn't going to be about "little ole me" anymore. There will be the sense of some under evolved soles trying to grab all the gusto and limelight they can, in thier insecure and greedy little Aries mitts. You may see this in the downside of the Aries energetic in roadside bombs, explosions, internet hacking, and greedy banking practices.

I think we will see people partying like its the summer of love or even 1999. There may be a tendancy to avoid the obvious changes and channel this wild child energetic into boogie woogie fever. This may be because this shift for Uranus is such a culmination of some peoples goals and ideals that they could feel completely exhausted and weakened lately and need to just "forgetaboutit" for awhile. There is nothing wrong with laying low and examining your options. It is a strategy (for sure) but I must mention that little old Saturn who likes to keep us disciplined and into the worky work mode is finally (sign of relief) going direct but is in opposition to the Jupiter and Uranus conjunction so it may feel like you are being pulled apart at the seems with unreasonable demands and decisions. I have thought about this aspect for the last 2 weeks. This Grand Cross energy in the sky is tapping into our awareness of our own will and power. Our own accomplishments are inherent in our ability to use and see the power of our own will and intention. Problem is, in a slowed down world, this is easy. In a hurried up Uranus in Aries conjunct Jupiter opposing Saturn world, this is very confusing.

Pluto is still in Pisces as Uranus pulls away in Aries and Pluto wants us to transform our conciousness and become aware of our own awareness. Uranus in Aries is going to be like shock therapy to many people as they are forced to concentrate "on what is REALLY important" personally and collectively. The shocks will be about transforming thier own ideas about "will "and "self ".

Issues like environmental awareness are going to become more important than the "me"...So guess what? It's not all about YOU. It's about the unchanging You and Your YOU who "wills" the world into being. So getting in touch with the part of yourself you recognizes this and takes action from this intention will not have any problems. If you are wandering around in "What's it all about Alfie mode" , get over yourself and get "jiggy with it", its a time for all the new soles to catch up with all the old souls here. Maturation of the Soul Group is at the doorstep. You, manifesting your will and awareness, is the password to open ali baba's cave of treasures. The cave of treasures is within you and if you realize this, "YOU" will be finding happiness in whatever life sends your way. Take this week to consider things carefully and if you must calm yourself and think slowly, do so. It will be a good choice.

Yes, its T SQUAREVILLE!

So, I could get all caught up in the series of trines and squares that are happening all week, month, and season YESI could fixate from hour to hour the ups and downs of all the alternate free flowing and roadblock energy happening with the big planets like Jupiter, Uranus, Saturn, Venus and Pluto like a good little astrologer.
But I won't. I started writing about it and well, I think it might be better to pull back and look at the Big Picture from a far. Don't want to not see the forest for the Trees!!!

Those planets are in a series of aspects that are forming a big ole T SQUARE. This is going to be going on all summer or should I say "simmer". Because that is what we are all going to be doing....The heat is on and its just starting to boil. Yeah, we are going to get cooked. Plenty of life changes, changes in focus, and new ideas about freedom and what is really important are emerging.

In a nutshell a T-square is when you have opposing planets and then 2 squares to one end of the opposition. What does this T-square mean? T-squares are amplified "give yourself and everybody else a hard time so you can be the victim" energy ...basically. It's like calling the help desk with a question and they don't know the answer and even if you know the answer you make it difficult for yourself, your friends, and everybody else you come in contact with because you feel like you got up on the wrong side of pluto this morning. Throw in Venus Squaring Jupiter and all the negative aspects of "Yeah, I really love/hate you/it/them" start pinging thier way into your aura and vocab!

This week as the moon enters Leo today we'll go from homey and comfy Cancer moon energy. "Gee I did get my garden planted last weekend" energy to "Oh MY aren't I hot stuff in my new summer clothing". There is going to be a spike in everyone kinetic energy and with Jupiter squaring Venus on and off all week, don't get too ahead of yourself here in the "I'm so great, the rest of you are all losers feeling". You are going to look like the schmuck you really are to everyone and there will be no hiding it. The bad news is that everybody is going to be feeling this T-square, the good news is you aren't alone. This could be a very difficult period because of all the unexpected changes that will be occurring in everyones plans. So in other words, things aren't going too smoothly for lots of people. Although the economy seems to be on the upswing a bit, be careful where you put your money. Be wise with it.

My advice, because pluto and saturn are retrograde, I would lay low and focus on projects and events from the past that you may want to address and tie up those loose ends. Ok, another way of talking about this is that if you have a bucket list, do those old ideas and projects on that list first. So if you always wanted to visit the old country where your ancestors emigrated from or take a summer trip down memory lane and look up those old friends and places you remember so well, then yes, it is a good time for "strawberry fields" forever. Even if it is listening to the old album and skyping your old buddy you hitch hiked to San Francisco (with flowers in your hair) in 1969, this is the time to do it. Everything 60's energy is BACK and its all fresh with all the new technology, the baby boomers are having a facebook psychedelic revival. That book you wantd to write, that photo album or video you wanted to produce about the old days, buying old collectibles, art, and memorabilia. They are all good investments. Even if you want to buy solar for your house or get that prius to save energy there will be transmission issues, brake problems, plumbing that doesn't work, and the contracter won't show up.

I have a sense about something here and I am going to try and articulate it. If you are a seeker of conciousness and awareness then this is where the pedal meets the metal so to speak. There is a very cool text from ancient India called the Avadhuta Gita. It is said that this was by the teacher of Patangeli.
It is even referenced in the Shrimad Bhagavatam written by Vsaya.

In another nutshell (and if after reading the above you don't know where I am going with this, it is just T Sq stuff so bear with me)
I am getting the sense that all the teachings for everything important are so very obviously in basic things like the sea, the concentration of work, the awareness of the mountains, the teachings in nature, in basic everyday things we take for granted....At this time, pay attention to the Avadhuta within yourself. Be the observer and watcher of yourself, tune into the basic pure energy of yourself. Don't let the planets tear you up, they are teachers and you are the student....eventually the student becomes the teacher...imbibe the teachings of THAT which is all around you. The Sea, The Beach, The Moon, The Stars, The Love of Animals.....This is the BIG PICTURE, of this simmer/summers T-square energetic.

Monday May 10, 2010 Mercury Stationing and Going Direct this Week

Mercury starts the end of its retrograde period tomorrow, Tuesday, May 11, 2010 but the initial effects will be a standstill stationing affect for most of this week and and there will be residual energies of lost time, missed apointments, and communication seemly taking a circulating route to get from point a to point b. Those construction roadblocks and detours are still in full swing! The moon is in Aries for the beginning of the week which brings a fresh and enthusiastic note to the work week. We are still in the Saturn/Uranus opposition which reached its Zenith this past weekend. The financial market mess and the lightening quick way money is lost and recovered is indicative of this aspect. If there are unexplained returned checks or missed payments in your own accounts, this is why. Now remember, we still have transformative Pluto and Organizational Saturn retrograde for 4 more months as well. With this said, I think we can expect the unexpected this summer and the tremors and welling up of inner earth energies in the form of earthquakes, oil spills, tidal waves, and volcanic activity will continue. There is even some thought that this could mean a dramatic shift in the earths weather patterning as volcanic ash covers the planet and seismic activity changes the earths axis. This remains to be seen but there has to be a golden side to all of this and perhaps it's in the transformation of it all and how this will, unfortunately for the survival of plant and animal life, force strict enviromental regulations. I think we can expect to see this action coming quickly and speedily over the next few months with the Uranus/Saturn Opposition still vibrating the planetary realms and influencing those with power and influence. It is interesting that the "mistake" between a million and a billion in an email on Wall Street to create such a global meltdown. This illustrates how illusional Uranus aspects can sometimes act. There are signs of growth and well being as well, on the planet and not everyone is in crisis mode. The europeans and southern states americans are rethinking thier summer vacation plans as travel to certain places is restricted because of natural disasters. This may keep the home fires or show we say backyard bar-be-ques burning this summer. Anyone for a game of croquet? With the Sun in Taurus and on Wed. May 12th we'll see the Moon enter Taurus too. The New Moon will be on Thursday at 9:04pm est still in Taurus. This is the VERY best time to plant your garden and to spend time out of doors. The earth needs your loving tenderness and care and if you can't plant a garden, get some new flowers or herbs and walk in the park. This is metaphorically a good time to plant your ideas or seeds of future transformation by starting an exercise walking program, yoga practice, meditation, class, education ot other self transformative endeavor. On Thursday this week, there is a sticky little Square happening on Thursday when Mars in "everybody look at me" Leo squares the Moon in Taurus. There will probably some celebrity scandal coming out of the woodwork involving a famous Leo person or persons. In your own world, beware of ego flares on Thursday and try not to steal the spotlight for your bosses and co workers as it will backfire and you will look like a suck up instead of a star. Finally on Friday the Moon enters social Gemini and if you have to pick a night to go out and get your funk on, Friday or Saturday stand out as a time to meet with friends, start new romances, or try a new restaurant. With the new Moon and the kick off of a Summery season (even tho it is still spring) it is the perfect time to reconnect with those summer time friends and activities. So get out the bar-be-que, plant your garden, have some friends over, and try a new trend this weekend. This is a great time to remember that if something isn't working out for you, then just quietly put the idea or project to the side and move on to something else. When the right thing for you to be working on comes along there is no energy in the world that can stop you. It is important that you connect with those things that are paramount to your evolution and growth as a human being this summer. If you aren't doing what you are meant to be doing, the universe will let you know in no uncertain terms. Those of you who are between 28 and 30 years of age and expereincing your Saturn return (this is when saturn crosses your natal saturn and it happens every 28 years), this is a real doosey of a time for you. I can not stress enough that if you have met emotional, physical, or social roadblocks recently and your life and quickly turned upside down, this is a time to get very "quiet" and examine your life. This is not the time to try and help others, it is a time to help yourself. If it has been a dark night of the soul, please re-examine your lifes path and do something else with yourself rather than the road you were on recently. This week with the moon in Aquarius, Sun in Taurus, I would expect friends and relatives to either visit you or you will be doing the visiting. Even with Mercury retrograde, there will be loads of communication and unexpected contacts. If plans were made before the Mercury retrograde then those plans are in stone no matter what but if the plans were made afterwards there could be some delays, missed connections, and detours on the way to Mom's house on Sun., May 9th, Mother's Day. Emotionally as we grapple with Saturn opposing Uranus there can be so many unexpected events that you may feel yourself becoming irrational or feeling a sense of deep overwhelming emotion. Watch out for this aspect and be sure to not take yourself too seriously and take the roadblocks and speed bumps with a calm sense of "this is one big great adventure", breathe in and breathe out. If you are dealing with deadlines at work or in your business and you didn't do the work to get things organized before the mercury retrograde, then you may feel a big sense of frustration right now. Things will not be straightening out till May 11th and the residual energies will be backing up appointments and missed scheduling errors right up until about May 26th. We'll be seeing a New Moon on the 14th in Taurus which will be a very homey time when it is best for you to plant your garden, clean your carpets, and organize your office before the onslaught of summer. Jupiter and Saturn will be opposing for a few weeks with the zenith occuring on the 22 and 23rd of May. This is the perfect time to finish that big project that maybe family or household related that you have been putting off for years. If you always meant to write that memoir or finish that scapebook, this is the perfect time to organize your old photos, movies, connect with old friends, and remember the good old days. There is something to be learned from this that goes beyond nostagia but connects you to that deeper sense of your mission on this planet. If you ask yourself, "What am I supposed to be doing and finishing right now"?...., the answer will come to you loud and clear and that is EXACTLY the thing you will have no problem accomplishing at this juncture of Pluto, Saturn, and Mercury retrogrades. There maybe a few plumbing problems, water problems, sewer problems, oil spills, volcanic ash releases, tornados, earthquakes, explosions, and other plutonian energetics poisoning the world. Fortunately for NYC, that explosion attempt was made during these retrogrades. It wasn't a supposed to be and so it never got off the ground.
This is the PERFECT time to connect to your inner self, teacher, and all knowing soul and use this inner direction to focus on your life mission. Anything else attempted will come to loggerheads. Connecting with family and friends maybe very high on this list and it is suggested that it is very cool and a wonderful time for this type of social interaction. If you feel too overwhelmed by whatever you are doing, by all means take a break. many people will be trying to escape thier worlds for quick weekend getaways and planning summer vacations. Spend some time alone very day, stay organized, and work hard. Connect with your pets, garden, unfinished projects, family, and household. Center yourself in the ever present moment no matter what occurs and protect your energy as much as possible by eating well and getting plenty of rest. Monday Morning is coming and so is Tuesday Morning...What can I expect with a waxing moon in Libra? I'll tell you one thing, work, meetings, and decisions will be more on a social fun loving level and not that much work is going to get done. If you have goals of getting XYZ done on Mon & Tues., it would be better for you to be enthusiastic and attentive but realize not that much is going to happen. You will be spinning your wheels. This is not the time to force an issue, look for a job, find new business, or fight for your rights. In the midst of all of this, try not to look like you are slacking but realize that with Venus is social and vanity ridden Gemini, it is pretty much going to be all talk and no action around the office. Add to that Mercury in Retrograde and you won't be getting the memo anyway. All of this will lead up to a Full Moon in Scorpio on Wednesday, April 28th which on the work front could mean promotions, surprise dismissals, and or very good returns on an investment or idea. This means Wednesday at work will be highly creative and if there is ever a time to express your inner genuis to the higher up mucky mucks, this is the time to roll out the goods. Because of Venus in Gemini it would be wise to guard againest starting any fights with family members or co workers because its better to stay of the fun loving side of this aspect and be aware that if energy builds in a negative direction during the Scorpio Full Moon, you can see a volcano blow, literally. There can be instances of a vicious cycles revealing thier ugly heads but please do not engage and keep all of that blow hard BS at arms length till at least the week end if needed. It can be very easy to hurt others during a Scorpio Full Moon so try to be kindly, happy, and sweet. This applies particularly to comparison thinking and jealous feelings. Do not compare yourself with others and know that you are an original and perfect just the way you are, thank-you very much! If you feel the pot boiling within yourself, take a walk, laugh it off, or try breathing in RE and breathing out LAX. As in RELAX. It might seem next to impossible but view the inner energy as the fire of love and bask in the warmth rather than taking up arms. This is not a time to give others a piece of your mind or talk too much. You'll probably just bore everyone anyway. Keep the cheshire cat grinning within and sail through the week as a social, party animal ready to have fun at any hom hum moment. I would suggest bringing in some bagels or coffee for everyone. It is the perfect time for a little office bonding on that fun level or suggest a luncheon outing or dinner party out on the town this week. Mind your manners, have a good time, include everyone, and you will be the star of the office and your bosses will be thinking team leader or management after this aspect is over.

This Saturday morning is a good day to mind your p's and q's. The Moon is in service and detail oriented Virgo. During the early morning hours Venus in Taurus trined Saturn in Virgo at 12:43 AM EDT, which sets the tone of the day to look after the things you love and to do things you love with great love. Because Saturn is a bit about karmic relationships, finances, and your own sense of world relating self, this trine with Venus in its last aspects of Taurus before moving into Gemini heralds a nice little intuitive dream time to look at your own wish fulfilling intentions and to be realistic about whats going on in your world. Having said that, this Saturday morning is the perfect time to pay all your bills, plan your summer vacations, connect with family member who are at a distance, and review your upcoming commitments. If you are noticing that you have reached a head of steam this past month and you are feeling weakened, debilitated, or just plain over tired, then you will have some nurturing time coming up when the Moon enters loving and homey Cancer at 7:30am est today. This is a time to pull back a bit and spend some quiet time. Get rid of all those extra obligations and even if you feel guilty or selfish it is imperative that you protect your inner energy at this time. You may have been feeling that it is 3 steps forward and 2 steps back anyway. If it seemed like you had to get everything done by today, the truth is, you probably should have finished up all those important projects and communications. The reason you ask? Well, it is because we are now in a Mercury retrograde. As of 6:06pm est the planet Mercury (which is all about communication) is going backwards in the sky. This is a time to expect those lost letters, computers crashes, misunderstandings,messages not being received, it may take longer than usual to get anything done, bad purchases, and money not being received. It is known to be a time of frustration and disappointment. If you want things to "jell" and they just don't seem to get off the ground, then this is why. Yes, you got it, a Mercury Retrograde" is a bad time to try and buy a house, enter into a legal agreement, or expect to give and get your messages quickly. While, all of this is actually the outer material world expectations, the fact that Mercury is retrograde in Taurus where Venus is also currently residing says to me that it will be necessary to surrender hopes and expectations materially and focus on the spiritual world. This Mercury Retrograde is a time to go over and re think your Spiritual path and what is most important to your own evolution of conciousness. Naturally with all this energy in Taurus, we will think about money strategies, love relationships, diet, possessions, and luxury items. It may be time to reconsider our options but not a time to move forward on those options. So you may think about selling your home or buying a new car but I would just gather information at this point. It may make better use of this time to take up a new spiritual practice, read something different, study some new ideas, and give the angst over material world issues a break. If you didn't make your goal at work before the retrograde, you should just relax and save goals for another month. I warn you that this is a fairly long retrograde period and will not go direct until May 11th at 12.20pm est. My advice is to take things slowly and it may not be a good time to try too hard to push through on any love relationship ultimatums or make oddles of purchases of luxury items. This is a time to reconsider your options, plan, and not make that new car purchase till the very end of May.

Saturn Oposition Uranus April 26, 2010 The Current Trends compared to 1960's aspects

Every 40 years or so, there are Saturn Oppostion Uranus aspects and we have two such aspects coming up soon, The first will be on April 26th, 2010 Saturn has gone retrograde into Virgo and opposes Uranus in Pisces. The next aspect will come this summer on July 26th, 2010 when Saturn will be in Libra and Uranus will be in Aries. In the mid 1960's we saw lots of social upheaval, change, and movements. During that time in the 1960's people wore buttons which proclaimed thier stance and affiliations to certain social groups and movements. There was the Civil Rights Movement, the Movement againest the War in Vietnam, the Women's Liberation Movement, Students for a Democratic Society, and a complete Sexual Revolution going on due to the advent of birth control. It was during this time that Man aspired to go to the Moon, the Ford Mustang was the hot car, and hoards of baby boomers were Tuning In, Turning On, and Dropping Out. The Musical Revolution of the 1960's which took Rock and Roll as we knew it and turned it upside down with the British Invasion, Bob Dylan, and Jimi Hendricks. San Francisco was where you wore flowers in your hair and Woodstock was just around the corner.

This April, and during 2010, we will see Media Trends, Renewable Energy, Healthcare, Tea Party, Electronic Communication Trends, Financial Institutions changing, and More and More blogging and social networking. In addition to Uranus in Pisces, we have an added bonus of Jupiter in the house of Pisces. This actually expands the energy of Uranus. The trending for Uranus in Pisces during 2010s is really about the nervous system of the planet and the technological linking and communication that is going on with Mass Communication. We have the Internet, Ipods, Videos, Emails, Live Journal, and Chat Rooms. The Phenomenom of personal handheld electronic devices ever expands as the Ipod turns into the Iphone and the Iphone turns into the Ipad. The Social Networks are experiencing a big boom in thier communal social activities. Although some people consider them irritating, Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn are churning out your friends into bits and bytes. This may or may not elevate the friend equation, the jury is still out, but you can not deny the interconnectedness this has created worldwide. With Jupiter hanging out next to Uranus in this aspect, I think we can see this be this whole electronic revolution expand to ever bigger levels. In fact, this interconnectedness is expected to create almost an otherworldly perception or mystical connection. It almost feels like another level of perception altogether. I think in hindsight we may see the leap human kind is taking to a new spiritual level. It seems that while we are in the midst of it, happily chatting away on our cellphone communicators, we don't necessarily see the dynamic proportions of electronic codependence we have created. We are hardly taking notice of it.

Now, lets take a closer look at the opposition of Saturn currently in retrograde action in Virgo. Virgo is about digesting it all and the systems that assimulate. Combined with Saturn, we are looking at the rules for how we make our livings. This is most likely on the homefront of how we make our income and live on the planet. Saturn has some definate regulations surrounding its energetic. I feel that this particular opposition in April will highlight the constrictions of business relationships and particularly the outgrowth from older business models as corporations struggle to keep up with the technological advances. As communication becomes cheaper and easier the need for mid level management becomes nonexistant. The changes in autocratic business structures will take a huge hit as companies continue to streamline thier operations. As companies continue to downsize and the baby boomer population grows older, material wealth and security will be coming to many, not through thier jobs and skills but through marriage, settlements, savings, pensions, social security, inheritance, and real estate. A redistribution of wealth is occurring and the illusion of wealth will change as a more pragmatic world evolves. The ability to communicate through the printed word is still very important even in the world of lightening quick communication so those that have the ability with the printed word will see opportunities with this aspect. You may encounter a flux of friends and family beating a path to your door looking for loans and help as this aspect unravels this year. The summer looks to see loads of short trips amongest family members and friends. Please be astute and aware that even if you want to help your friends and family, the help you give them may not elevate the situation as much as the both of you may have hoped. It is important that you continue to save your money and mastermind your own evolution. This may involve severe downsizing and your friends and relatives may not want to hear this at this time. Please know that this is a trend we are going to see more and more. Houses and Property with grandiose lifestyles will be transformed into simpler existances. Currently, we are seeing a huge push for health care and this is part of this trend. It will be one of those arrangements of the future. Notice how there is a lot of nasty opposition to healthcare? This is an example of some people just not getting the social revolution we are going through. Be very careful during these oppositional aspects to not lose your money or reputation because of indiscreet relationships and business arrangements. If it isn't on the up and up, don't even think of parking your Prius there.
There will be a surge and upswing this year of interest in mysticism and spiritual perception as people try to grapple with the social life changes occuring around them. Saturn opposite Uranus can typically put some people at odds with drugs, sex, alcohol, codependance, and other forms of substance abuse. Charlie Sheen, and Robert Downey Jr. both have this aspect in thier natal charts. Be very wary of seeking refuge in that bottle of wine or sexy friendship. If you are any type of teacher or therapist please advise your clients to keep thier cool and take up kickboxing or yoga instead. The currents will be strong and know we are all going downstream together and there may be some kicking and spashing as your clients continue the drama of trying to fight the current and swim upstream. It ain't gonna happen. This is a great time to spend time alone and taking up a spiritual practice or interest. Many who have trouble digesting this aspect will look to journey or retreat. They may just plain try to run away. Whether this journey is to Key West, Costa Rica, an ashram, rehab, or convent, the intangible devotional aspects of healing will be difficult but not impossible.

April 8, 2010 - Aquarius Moon - Saturn in Retrograde - Stick to your Routines

Saturn is turning up the heat towards the weekend, in its present retrograde positioning, as it skits into picky picky, prissy Virgo. In this aspect it is all about frills and expectations of a perfect world. As the screw turns in this Saturn retrograde, you can expect all kinds of expectations, power trips, fearfulness, and naked emotional content coming your way. This is being supported by Pluto in Capricorn who really just expects everyone to be on some sort of regimented schedule. Because of this it is important that you are honest with yourself and others about all your authority issues. If you have had an authoritarian relationship with others such as a manager, teacher, or parent and you have certain guidelines and expectations of how the world works according to YOU, then get ready for a surprise. The rug may be pulled out from under you and your sense of expectation. Your respect and honor could come tubbling down like humpty dumpty. It will be important to cultivate humility during this aspect because resistance is futile as far as Pluto is concerned. On the other hand, if you have let individuals, institutions, teachers, managers, family members, or friends dominate your world, get ready to rebel and spring into transformative action, This retrograde may give you the strength and impetus to break free from those relationships and realize that you didn't need them anyway. Ask yourself, who am I kidding? Time to be straight with yourself here! On the supportive UP side of the retrograde Saturn energetic, there is a lively Aquarian Moon. This moon is very reasonable and forward thinking. It is humanitarian and logical...but don't forget that Neptune and Chiron are in Aquarius as well and it could all be a very illusional equation right now. Do you have any far fetched fantasies or delusions of grandeur? Are you trying to impress yourself and your will on others to promote your own agendas? Watch out, you are in for a fall this Spring. It would be far better to develop a quieter mood and stick close to the home front and plant that garden. I wouldn't go too far out on any limbs unless you are into inventing some fabulous new electronic gadget which in that case Uranus is super supportive of your experiments. Otherwise, I can't stress enough that although this is a creative time and a time of great change. It is a time to do it because you genuinely want to put the work into it yourself and not manipulate others into doing everything for you. Basically stick to your regular routines, take in a movie, enjoy a good book, paint a painting, and cook up some wonderful recipe this weekend but do not try to marienette others! Take a good look at your authority issues now and take stock of where you are at and where your realistically want to be with them. Get off any selfishness kicks or delusions. I don't know about you, but for me, the Pluto and Saturn retrogrades strike a bit of trepidation. After thinking about this overnight, I have felt that since we have such lovely energy with the Venus and Mercury in Taurus and a considerate Capricorn Moon is really grounding all this wild energy, at least for now. Very enjoyable but busy energy. If you are getting your garden together, redecorating, cleaning up after a flood, or planning a summer trip you are feeling organized and energized in your current projects. In the work a day world, things are busy busy busy. Hard to catch a breath. I think we will really need to try to catch one though before the summer months.

Tonight, I am going to talk about Saturn....
Saturn has been retrograde since after the first of the year in Libra. Saturn is all about rules, regulations, career choices, organization, and details. So as it moves back into Virgo on April 7th and out of "balancing" Libra, we'll see a bit of a change. Virgo is indicative of selfless service, taking care of health issues, and the care of family and friends. This could be particularly stressful time for healthcare workers, beauticians, and healers because all the faults and problems will be coming out out of their clients and patients at a rapid rate. Whatever your profession, it is important that you guard against getting any type of bad reputation at this time and things can get crazy so try to be understanding and patient. There will be demands on everyone because of the nature of this aspect and the feelings it will evoke will hit on a mass conciousness level. We will be asked to give and then give a little more. The dominant power mongers of this world will get a huge ego boost from this and will wreak havoc on those they consider beneath the status quo. There will be many ridiculous ideas put forth in the name of making money or furthering society but many of these ideas will be at the expense of the underdog. There will be the beginning of many human rights law suits and issues. With both Pluto and Saturn retrograde, we can expect to feel like we are being controlled and dominated by the things that are no longer working for us in our lives. It may be a huge watershed or wake up time for many people especially those baby boomers who are looking at retirement and have to make drastic decisions on a style of living or scaling back to a different lifestyle. These choices will not include being under the thumb of corporations or big business. There will be a bit of "take this Job and Shove it" attitude over the summer months as many will wrestle with their feelings of powerlessness. While the Pluto retrograde will be helping the deeper transformational issues many will be addressing, there may still be some painful resistance. While change is never an easy thing to cope with, it would be best to not get too overly emotional about it all and try to make the best of what appears to be bad situations. Oh Alright, I am going to have to talk about it. Pluto is going retrograde for 5 months beginning tomorrow April 6th. Since Pluto wants to pull out our deepest secrets and hidden agendas, this may feel like we are in the doldrums while we repeat old patterns and do things over and over again. It looks like the summer months will be backtracking into old memories, relativesm meeting up with old friends, and if we think we've seen this movie before, we probably have. Since Pluto is in Capricorn, this might be in the areas of business, public personae, career, homelife, a dominating relative or authority figure, reputations may be on the line, and we may be finding hidden things around our home. If we thought we forgot about it, we will get to revisit all these past people, places, and things one more time. If this sounds like a drag to you, it is important to look at this as an opportunity to go over some of these past problems and issues with a fine tooth comb for the final release back into the ocean of the past. This maybe a real opportunity to just breath deeply and release what isn't working anymore. If you are struggling with making the mortgage payments on a house, it may be a time to sell and move on. Children may come home for the summer and you will enjoy them before they are off again by summer's end. There may be an old upheaval that comes back to roost. There may be a seriously ill relative or some other health issue coming into the forefront. Some of this may be bitter sweet but be aware that it is also time of new beginnings with one last long 5 month goodbye. On the spiritual bright side, this may be a time of deep inner work with a focus on inner evolution and acceleration. So if you are trying to decide between that summer spiritual yoga retreat or the family reunion, please be aware that both places will dredge up intense past impressions of the karmic nature. A Wondeful opportunity is spinning our way tomorrow night (Sunday March 28th) when at 7pm EST, and lasting for about three hours, we’ll see the Moon apex a Finger of God, base Neptune/ Chiron sextile Venus.
This opportunity is all about transformation, healing, and upgrading your attitude in regards to balance and equilibrium. Neptune and Chiron are presently about 1 degree apart in Aquarius. Neptune and Aqaurius is all about large connective mass conceptual energy like popular culture, internet, altruistic mass understanding, collective conciousness, movies, books, hidden knowledge, and illusion. Chiron is the healer who has trouble healing himself and ends up sacrificing himself for the sake of healing. I attribute this aspect to the passing of the health care bill. While there is wild opposition, the bill has wind it its sails due to the collective need. The opposing forces seem to be rooted in some kind of Saturian poverty consciousness. Now is the time to plan it.

5. Make a point of having loving and caring thoughts for whatever presents itself to you during the coming Libra Full Moon. Balance Balance balance! Maybe you need some time alone as you have been working so hard. Try to pin point what you need to balance yourself and give yourself permission to so it! Make a list of the ways you could do this. As we moved into Fiery Aries and Mars full throttle ahead in Leo we have had some rough patches this week with Pluto squares and Saturn in Libra opposing Jupiter and Uranus. We maybe seeing very quick and immediate change that will blaze through our beings taking no prisoners. If you are on the spiritual path, this is the perfect time to increase your meditation and yoga practice. You may need more and more time alone to deal with the assault of new ideas and work expectations (saturn energy).

Jupiter coming into Aries on the other hand is all about expansion, abundance, and good fortune. So while we can expect sudden Uranian changes, we can couple this with sudden boons and discoveries on the material and spiritual level. So out with the OLD and in with the NEW!
Then.....We throw Pluto in Capricorn into this mix with Saturn in Libra, you are looking at a T Square of magnificent proportions coming our way. The energy of this is going to whoosh whoosh...how did that happens so quickly. So if you are feeling a little bit rebellious and have any type of inkling that you may be stuck in some old outmoded relationships which are bordering on toxic, you won't be alone. I see this as a mass happening on a very large scale. It won't be your parents or grandparents over 55 community any more. The developers of personal electronic devices and software are going to score a fortune as people move towards a continues wireless society constantly upgrading their business and social contacts and networks to create a super envelop of awareness which borders on telepathy. The areas of sustainability and green movement with inventions in the energy sector and transportation sector will change society on more and more levels. You will be looking to upgrade your facilities within your own home to save energy and save money. There will be a deep examination of what is truly needed and what can be dropped away on the level of day to day living. This summer may be very intense for some people and yes, it seems a bit scary. We may all be in for a bit of shock or emotional overload I have been thinking about it for a couple of days now and I have created a list of 10 coping strategies.If you can think of more please comment. 1. Keep diet simple with loads of veggies, salads, and healthy fruits

3. Be very careful to avoid accidents

7. See everything as an expression of energy and stay centered in the moment
8. give yourself permission do things you always wanted to do
9. Let some sun and air into your life - Get rid of all those stale things in your life
10. Trust in God - trust your own inner feelings - no fear
You will see yourself doing everything from changing your job, where you live, who you live with, and what you wear. In fact this whole configuration reminds me a little of the energy of the 60's where people grew their hair long, dropped out of known society and started a counter culture revolution. I am thinking to myself that the best thing I can do is just be aware that this is all going to happen and enjoy it while its happening. Take the surprises in stride. Hold on its going to be a bumpy ride!

Today we are bursting forth into the Spring/Vernal Equinox time with Merc/Venus/Sun all in Aries! This fiery time is when Mars the ruler of Aries (the Planet Mars recently went direct in Leo on March 10th) is gearing up for battle. The challanges of this Spring would be best channled towards creative pursuits rather that mussing yourself up in conflict of any kind. Aries energy tends to be unchangable, steadfast, opinionated, and right wing. Let todays earthy Taurus moon feed your soul by getting out into Nature and enjoying the sun as you do some gardening or other activity close to the earth. You will need this grounding energy with all the heavenly fire burning up the mass conciousness and subtle realms of old outworn toxic relationships which are in the process of being purged this spring. You need to have some kind of earthy touchstone as Libra in Saturn opposes the furnace of the Sun in Aries. Libra is all about checks and balances especially in relationships and when you put this in opposition to Aries, man, this just fans the flames. You need to be "ready for anything" because with Pluto in Capricorn squaring Libra/Saturn this becomes a place of evolutionary changes. Sometimes a detailed well thought out offense is better than the not very ready defensive mode or vice versa. If you must be defensive use your powers of persuasion and sense of humor to deflect attacks. it's going to be all systems go, Ready or Not, blast off here we come. Beware, this configuration gives those who think they are vested in all kinds of "Authority" a double whammy shot of confidence to come off the wall and dominant those who they percieve to be weak and inferior. Think about creative ways to approach those relationship situations with logical problem solving ideas to try and upgrade your situation. The days started out very Piscean and technological with leaps of understanding in my meditations and early morning routine! But oh how things digressed into problems and difficulties during the day! Of course there are problems, it is life! But....Oh, The Mercury Squared Pluto was a gangbusters grinding itself creating roadblocks and surprising events.... and with an Aries Sun? It was downright fiery! I am glad of the Taurus Moon tonight and hopefully this will calm the wavelengths across the cosmos!

I had one of those days today! I couldn't get out of my own way and I felt and inner stress that was a deep uneasiness. In spite of that, I have great optimism for the future! It's actually Spring and the days are longer and warmer, I am ready to put the day aside and talk about tomorrow. So if you had a stress filled day like many of us, drop it off now and lets talk about the Year in General! First of all 2010 in numerology is a three. Three represents the planet Jupiter in Vedic Astrology. I think Jupiter is my favorite planet (besides Venus of course). It has the incredible spiritual energy of the teacher or guru and is considered a form of Shiva. Shiva is the energy in this universe that is behind everything. It is the constant cosmodic vibrations called spanda in sanscrit. The actual movement of things like the planets going around the sun and the moon around the earth, your heart beating, the functions of your body, the thoughts in your mind, my fingers typing this are all the Movement Energy or what is known as Shakti. Jupiter representing the Guru is a powerful energetic and contemplation; I am seeing more and more people developing thier spiritual qualities this year. For a few years now, Spirituality has become more mainstream. It has even become a money making operation for some people but that is how things are diseminated sometimes. In spite of the Mass Upliftment of Conciousness there are still wars, misunderstandings, and people still have murderous thoughts about thier co workers and neighbors. But the wisdom of 2010 and the Jupitarian influence on this year will really be helping people evolve and on spiritual and material recessions. New riches and treasures are waiting to be unearthed both within and without. I like to think of this as an energy that is working strongly on a subtle level as we emerge from a time of concealment. Perhaps many new teachers will emerge this year or teaching will come in an energetic secret form. However it makes its way to us, be aware, that the inner teacher is the Guru within your being and dharmic and true to yourself is the highest and best path!

Wow, talk about changing gears this week. First there was the time change and we leapt forward 1 hour and straight into a New Moon at the beginning of the week. Now we have the Moon, Mercury, and Venus in Aries. Talk about an energy switch this week! Last weeks Piscean Pie to a Fiery Aries Sports car prowling around with the Moon, Merc, and Venus today! If you are looking for new experiences and you are ready to fall for a new relationship or idea then things are going to get really interesting for you. With Pluto Squaring Mercury there will be the talk about uncovering long deep mysteries and the unearthing of hidden treasures. Today I heard the Newscasters talking about the Art heist at the Isabelle Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston over 20 years ago. Seventeen works of Art were stolen by robbers in Police Uniforms after an 81 minute romp through the Museum where they stole a Manet, a Vermeer, a Rembrant among many more. These works of art have remained hidden for many long years. With Pluto in Cap squaring Mercury in Aries there will be plenty of secrets getting uncovered this week. Locally, in Gloucester, MA, where I live there were arrests in a 32 year old Murder which occurred at a Mortuary when a drug addict family member tried to rob the safe with two accomplises, the robbery went bad when the secretary and girlfriend of the mortician walked in on the safe cracking and was killed. It was all for less than $1500. The nephew hid in SanFransico till his arrent under an alias earlier this week. You may have heard about some Tibetan and Egyption tombs and artifacts recently unearth. Talk about Plutonian! I think we can see more and more examples of hidden mysteries being revealed this week. There are some surprising events and hidden agendas at work on the cosmic conciousness level that will be revealed later in the year. There are loads of hidden mysteries and I think there will be loads of surprising discoveries all year long.I am thinking that while social structures like healthcare, politics, education, and other social structures such as newspapers and magazines will be reinventing themselves on a business, social, and cultural way. Basically, it will be reinvention or the end of an era. Out with the old social structures and in with the new. We will see more of this later in the year, particularly when Uranus starts moving into Aries. The technology of the moment will support the changes. Yes, so visualize, what will the world be like when everyone has an ipad or other other personal technology. Chiron and Neptune are working together to bring about upgrades and solutions on a technology level as well as a spiritual level. Our pain and problems can often be our best friends as it creates solutions in our lives. Chiron is the puppetmaster of this gig and combined with Neptune he tries to unearth as much dirt within our own psyches as Pluto. Our sense of inner self and spiritual connection will change rapidly in more and more of the population as Pluto moves or should I say crawls through Capricorn.

There is an old Irish Proverb that states; "If Your lucky enough to be Irish, you're lucky enough!" and when examining this years, 2010, St Patrick's Day astrological aspects, I am struck by how true this statement could be!

Ireland is an island nation stuck out into the cold Atlantic with a deep scared history of Viking conquests, British, and Gaul subjugation. St Patrick's Day is celebrated on the annivesary of his death. Originally born in Britian he was captured at age 16 and taken to Ireland as a slave where he worked as a shepard. Originally he was from a wealthy christian family in Britian and so during his long, lonely 6 year captivity he turned to his faith for solace and redemption. Many believe he was held in Antrim in Northern Ireland while others believe he was held in Kildare. It was during his captivity that he had the idea to convert the Irish people to Christianity and there is a story that he was guided by visions of God to do so. He is said to have walked 200 miles to escape his captors and escaped back to Britian after 6 years when eventually he brought back his own Christian invasion to subjugate his original captors. The Irish practiced a wild, mystic nature religion which was very energetic and enlivened. There is not much known about Patrick but there is the legend that he cast the snakes out of Ireland. The truth is there were never any snakes in Ireland but the snake allusion is probably symbolic of getting rid of the enlivened energy of the Irish people. Some might say this could also be known as the kundalini shakti energy. Anyway, whatever happened, St Patrick merged the Pagan Symbolism with the Christian Symbolism and holidays to make Christianity palatable to the Irish people. He used bonfies to celebrate Easter since the Irish people were know to worship the sun and use fire in thier celebrations. He superimposed the sun symbol on to the Irish Cross. Some say that the tax incentives were good for those who brought Christianity to the Irish and that may have been the reason for itand that the stories of Patrick have been embellished across the centurys as part of the Irish storytelling tradition. Whatever happened, it is remembered that Patrick died on March 17th, 460AD. The people would go to church in the morning because it was nearing the end of lent and in the afternoon eat cabbage and bacon to celebrate. There would be a good deal of dancing and merrymaking as a release to the lenten pent up energies but this also cooincided with the Spring Equinox and the renewal of lifes energies.
Ireland is very green because it rains there a lot so you can understand why the Sun was very important to the Irish. It is very interesting that the Piscean placement of March 17th this year is multiplied by Mercury, Sun, Jupiter and Uranus to be all in Pisces. The Irish are Mercurial people and if you were going to pick a planet that represents them, then I would pick Mercury. Swift, Agile, Poetic, a Traveler, a Mystic, and a Muse, Mercury embodies the Irish soul and spirit. I remember once I was flying in an airplane to London and when we flew over Ireland and I looked down at the Green land my heart leapt in my chest in a way it had never done before and has never done since. It was like a deep ancestral connection ran within my body which recognized its Irish roots. Many people around the world can claim a bit of Irish blood even if it is only on St Patrick's Day. The wearing of the Green symbolizes a united power of this Mercurial energetic. This year we also have the Moon and Venus in Aries which is a cardinal Fire sign and really is indicative of the fire in the soul of the Irish people. So this St Patricks promises to be filled with a fire of gaiety and love blooming with the new moon. The Mercury and Uranus conjuction on this day portends and exciting, creative, and a time filled with new futuristic ideas and technologies. It is not accident that in the last few years Ireland has become a world leader in computer and white collar technologies. There will be lots of action but some of it will be subtle and happening on a subtle level of conciousness. So, this St Patrick's promises to have a verve and energy that will give new meaning to the global wearing of the green soul group. Enjoy the Day!

So you made it through the winter in one piece and now the energy is cuminating with this Pisces New Moon, Mars Direct, and Merc, Sun, Jupiter, and Uranus also in Pisces. Do you perhaps feel slightly waterlogged? Are you practically holding your breath for Aries to blast into the picture next week and break out into Spring resplendant with flowers and birds singing. You are probably not alone because for some persons, all this Piscean energy feels like drowning and for other people its a supremely inspirational time filled with break through after breakthrough in certain social, technical, and communication fields. If you are teaching yourself to use a software program right now, it is probably a breeze! But if you have trouble logging into email then your not getting it exactly. If you do want to learn some new technology, this is the week to do it, there is no doubt about it with Jupiter and Uranus hanging out with Sun, Moon, and Merc. It is practically a St Patricks Day step dancing routine! In other words, the planets are all lined up for inspirational creativity on a technical stage. If there is a class for you to take, this week, that you have always been meaning to do, do it! There is more to life then all kinds of selfless and group filled Piscean energy though.... and you may be tuning into Mars in Leo and Venus in Aries. Both of these planets are currently in a smoldering state till next week with all the fishy wishy energy damping down the fire. Once Merc, Sun, and Moon slide in Aries, it will be a new dawn, a new world, and it will be ok, hang in there.
Now just a little bit of commentary on Saturn, no, I am not trying to bring you down. I just want you to look at the facts. Saturn is about all work and no play boys and girls. After all, we are all in the body, and we are all needing to support ourselves, pay the bills, and put the kids through school. So if you are the least bit irresponsible and not much of a planner, Saturn in Libra is going to have you very confused. You won't be able to decide whether to save your money, hunt down those bargains, or sell your unwanted things at the Spring yard sale. You'll be thinking its time to spend a month in Europe where you send home tons of luxuries you can't afford. You will be stymied by trying to decide what is best to do on the financial front. The scales will keep tipping and you'll be skipping right into trouble. I am going to lay it all out on the table for you. You have to learn to save your money. There, I blurted it out. If you aren't planning things, this Saturn in Libra will freak you right out especially if your Pluto isn't aspected very well and you are one of those people who like to live on the edge. Bottom line, stop complaining, pack your lunch, don't go out to eat, drive a used car, figure out how to lower your bills, don't buy things you can afford, recycle, look to live a little greener, plant a garden, and take a vacation in the backyard. Play some board games and rent a DVD from netflix. Get over it, your savings account will grow, your family will be happy because your doing things like eating dinner and playing games together. It's going to be like this for 2 more years so get used to it and by all means plan for it. The economy is going to get better but how we think about money with Libra in Saturn is very important. Our values will be changing on a social and global level.

Vasantha Navaratri starts tomorrow. March 15-24th If you are not familiar with Navaratri's they are 9 day festivals held in India celebrating the three aspects of the Goddess. They are held 4 times a year but the Fall and Spring festivals are considered the most vitalThe Spring or Vasantha Navaratri culminates on Lord Rama's Birthday. These nights are considered sacred because these are the nights when the spiritual and creative energies of Lakshmi, Saraswati, and Durga are most intense. The Spring Navaratri is about the rejuvenation of Life. Prayers and Pujas to the goddesses during this time aid in your spiritual and material well being. The first three nights are for Durga who represents the power to restore health and combat negative influences. It is said that she combats poverty, criminal tendancies, laziness, and fear. She is the original "No Fear" Slogan!

The next three nights are dedicated to Lakshmi the Goddess of Wealth and Abundance and to pay homage to her is to invite beauty, luxury, Both spiritual and material wealth in thier lives. She signifies a certain joy and sustanance.The Last three night of the Vasantha Navaratri are very important because this is when you can honor Saraswati, the Goddess of inspiration, motivation, discrimination, knowledge, music, fine arts, science, and technologies. She guides seekers in all the knowledge Arts and is revered by musicians, artists, speakers, and writers alike. In Western Astrology we are looking at Sun, Mercury and Uranus meeting up with the New Moon in Pisces and we are experiencing a full range of Piscean emotions and and energies. With Saturn in Libra on the opposite side of the chart, it is likely that there are certain conflicts or old patterns we are looking to move forward on with great gusto now that Mars has gone direct. So while Piscean energies can include working together in groups for the greater good in the greater ocean of universal conciousness, the flip side with Saturn being in wishy washy "I wish everything was better and I am never satified unless it is beautiful and perfect" attitude, this can weed out the boyfriends who are after only looks and girlfriends who only want money. On the work front this could mean big trouble if you aren't pulling your weight, the conflicts with your boss will be "mighty mighty". Jupiter is sort of squaring Saturn so if you are going to be caught for fudging that report or your numbers are not perfect, it'll be discovered and there will

All of this is driving us towards a Poetic and Neptunian St Patricks day on Wednesday with Chiron practically attached at Neptunes hip. If you drink too much and sing songs loudly, you'll be be looking to heal yourself with Chirons bottle of aspirin. All of this Piscean who - ha will be water under the dam in 2 weeks time anyway when Venus, Mercury, and the Sun are all in Aries. So if you are feeling agitated and like you want to lead a rebellion at work, hold off for a bit. The IT and the Technology Department are probably installing some new software or program right now that will make everything easier or at least different in 2 weeks time. Things should get really interesting then!

March 14th, 2010 - Heading towards the Vernal Equinox New Moon and All

The New Moon is a happening thing today in a very complicated run up to next weeks Vernal Equinox. For starters we have Sun, Moon, Mercury, Uranus, and Jupiter in Pisces which as I mentioned yesterday makes every one hyper sensitive. Jupiter usually bring abundance but in this aspect bouncing and trining with everything else, my sense is that it brings a share of just plain old hard work into the picture. You team this up with the Sun and Uranus conjuncting on Wed.... we can expect power outages, networks down, viruses, and new inventions coming into light. There may even be a new energy source or unexpected power surge like the earthquakes, winds, and storms we have been seeing. These major castastrophies are indicators of a mass conciousness victimization complex. Everyone has been so busy treading water in the recession and working thier little tails off swimming againest the tide that it can be pretty difficult for some people to not feel put upon by all the hard work they have had to do in order to survive and make those mortgage and credit card payments. I say all this Piscean energy is making people swim a little harder againest the tide. It is probably no accident those Dolphins beached themselves or got confused on Cape Cod with Uranus and the Moon trining away in Pisces. Interesting bit of news about Pope Benedict today. He has some child abuse karma that shows up in his own chart with how his Pluto is aspected. I guess he makes quite a target with all his rules and regulations but its been amazing that he has avoided these types of charges up to now. Pluto in Capricorn is digging up the dirt in a malicious way, isn't it? I think we'll see lots more in the scandal department as mass conciousness becomes less and less able to cover these things up and sweep them under the rug. Between Tiger Woods and John Edwards, the amazing abilities of public figures to do really human stupid things, all because they think they are somehow beyond the rules will become more exposed with Pluto in Capricorn. Neptune and Chiron are conjunct and that says to me that so much of what we learn about evolving ourselves is really going on at a subtle level...almost like a dream like level or alternate level. In a sense the planet is radically transforming itself from an internet level out and creating an extra ultra conciousness that is contributing to our evolution. We really don't have anything to do with this ultra evolutionary steps that are happening. Yes it is happening to us all at such a fast rate of speed as we approach 2012 that we can barely keep up with everything. Don't even try...Those of us with lots of Neptune in our charts may feel like on some level we are really working it out, we don't know how, but we are doing it. Okok...I didn't forget about Saturn in 1 degree of Libra. I think we can expect the latest fads and signs of beauty to be very structured. has anyone else noticed those structured dresses the actresses were wearing at the Academy awards? Jennifer Lopaz looked like she was wearing styrofoam. So expect more shoulder pads and structure in clothing and in perceptions of beauty for the next 2 1/2 years. When you think about Venus in Aries to boot, you can only imagine that the IN colors will be yellow and red. So as we wend our way towards the Vernal Equinox which looks like an amazing yantra diagram with all the squares and trines, lets remember that this is an incredibly creative and prosperous time in the making. You may be so tired that you aren't enjoying it and all I can say is that you are not alone! More tomorrow when I wrap my head around it and attempt to make some observations about the Spring Equinox. A time of new beginnings which appear to be complicated but potentially rewarding if you don't get on the victim wagon. I say, use your creativity to figure out ways to make things easier for yourself in the work hard department or at least carve out some down time for yourself.

This weekend will be a great weekend to rest up and relax before the New Moon in Pisces which is heading towards a conjuction with Jupiter. This aspect will definately put everyone in good mood. Let all that tired pent up "I worked too hard and didn't take of myself all week" attitude, fall off your shoulders as you check out of that victim of the office mode. Watch a few DVD's, catch up on the DVR's, read a book, connect with old friends, go for a walk on the beach, and cook a nice meal on Sunday. Turn off the phone, sleep late, and channel surf. This is also an incredibly creative time and a time to learn new skills especially in the technology sector. Spiritually with the dance of Saturn in Libra, its a great time to take up a beautiful discipline like yoga or meditation. Refresh and Renew your practices with an inner verve. It'll be a great time to notice the energy in the dust motes and contemplate the universe in an acorn. With the Sun, Moon, Mercury, Jupiter and Uranus in Pisces teamed up with the New Moon, expect ultra sensitivity and please please please give up being a martyr or victim this weekend, you'll be wasting prescious energy where you could be creating a new idea or piece of art while relaxing. So be on time today or you will get an earful from the powers that be. Not a morning to stretch the rules a bit.
